Mariano Taberner, one of the pioneers of Valencian natural wine, has made wine since 2000 in an 18th-century building in La Portera, a hamlet in Requena, surrounded by century-old vines on the limestone plateau of Utiel-Requena, between 650 and 700 metres. Among the first in the area to get organic certification.

Works only native varieties —Bobal, Tardana, Moscatel, Macabeo— organically and with nothing but grapes: no filters, no additives, no added sulphites. Makes carbonic Bobal, long-maceration orange wines and ancestral wines that ferment in the bottle, some with ideas as free as ginger or jalapeño.
