Robert Kane, American, and Derek-Paul Labelle, Canadian, came to Winningen, in the Lower Mosel, to rescue slate terraces that were being abandoned for lack of succession. One of the first vineyards was sold by Mrs Flöck, a widow of the village with no heirs, and the project bears her name. Since 2025 Robert has continued alone.
The mini-plots, with slopes of up to 60 % and dry-stone walls, are worked by hand with regenerative farming. Mostly Riesling and a little Pinot Noir; they ferment with indigenous yeasts and age in foudre, stainless steel or used oak, with no additives and low or no sulphites.
