In the Massís del Garraf, the limestone range on the Penedès coast, Miquel Medall and Jaume Colet make wines that aim to be a faithful reflection of each plot, always with varieties of the area. Their brand is Mestratge. They met at the Mercè Rosell i Domènec viticulture and oenology school in Espiells, where Miquel is a teacher and Jaume was a student, and released their first vintage in 2020.
They farm organically and harvest by hand. They press gently, ferment with vineyard yeasts and age in tank or used barrel, with no corrections and low sulphites. The result: Mediterranean whites with clean acidity and a stony texture.
