In 2014, Silvia and Kike began buying and leasing century-old vineyards in Cebreros, in the Sierra de Gredos, that were being uprooted. The name pays tribute to the “gañanes”, the old growers who kept them alive. Today they work about five hectares on granite, between 750 and 780 metres.
They grow Garnacha, Albillo Real and Morenillo, an almost vanished variety, without synthetic chemicals and with hand harvesting. They ferment with their own yeasts, age in used French barrels and bottle unfined and unfiltered; most of their wines contain no additives at all.
