Dominique Dufour was an aeronautical engineer in Paris and Bordeaux. On retiring, Dominique returned with wife Marie-Claude to Rablay-sur-Layon, the family's village in Anjou, and in 2014 took over Les Aussigouins, the family Chenin plot, opposite Les Noëls de Montbenault of neighbour and friend Richard Leroy.
70 ares of Chenin worked organically without certification, with low yields and hand harvest. Ferments with indigenous yeasts and ages in old barrels; one of them comes from Château Haut-Brion. No sulphites added since 2018. Makes a single wine, Experto R.
